Zombie Timeline

At first there was this avatar I made for an art group in FB,

Then an idea for a first-person shooter artwork came since Facebook has officially change its previous profile page layout into Timeline.

There you go. "Br..Br..Brainzzz!"

Jane Eyre

Last week I was running out of movies to watch in my hard drive. There was this movie I got from my sister called Jane Eyre, it was based on a classic book of the same title. I thought I'd give it a try since my free time at home in this fasting month was mysteriously long and painfully slow.

It was not a great movie, but I was intrigued by one scene in the movie where Jane and Rochester talked about her paintings:

Rochester : Were you happy when you painted these?

Jane : Yes. To paint is one of the keenest pleasures I have ever known.

Rochester : Then your pleasure have been a few. Are you satisfied with them?

Jane : Far from it. I imagine things I'm powerless to execute.

Here is a fan art. I've always been fascinated by the feel of the Victorian age and it is nice to have finally produced an artwork of this theme.

Apolusia #6 : Issue 322

The character Apolusia belongs to MOY Publications Sdn. Bhd.

This is the last work for Apolusia that I did before I stopped a few months past. But I'll probably still be working on some other works for Apolusia in the future.

Apolusia #5 : Issue 321

I skipped an issue. didn't have enough time to finish it.

Apolusia #4 : Issue 319

The character Apolusia belongs to MOY Publications Sdn. Bhd.

My illustrations didn't always come out as I wanted them to be. they're always somewhat better or most of the cases, very worse. This one is one of that worse kind.

Apolusia #3 : Issue 318

The character Apolusia belongs to MOY Publications Sdn. Bhd.

Apolusia is basically a crossover or more likely a rip-off character of Ghost Rider and the BLIND's brand logo/mascot (http://skately.com/img/library/logos/large/blind-skateboards.png) and I try to change that by applying the fiery skull concept into something else like this.
After this artwork was published in the magazine just a few days ago, I was disappointed by its crappy color saturation on the thin paper. But, it's a good lesson nevertheless.

Corel Painter 12 + Adobe Photoshop CS3

Apolusia #2 : Issue 317

The character Apolusia belongs to MOY Publications Sdn. Bhd.

I've put two of the same work here, but the left one got a little more detail and texture to the boy's body in comparison. The texture, was painted and pasted in Adobe Photoshop CS3 in order to explain why his hair is engulfed in the campfire with that stupid look in his face.
The left boy pretty much explains that he can transform his entire body into whatever elements it touches. Despite that, the published piece was the right half of the upper image, the one that I painted in Corel Painter 12 without the extra Photoshop modification / the added texture.

Apolusia #1 : Issue 316

The character Apolusia belongs to MOY Publications Sdn. Bhd.

This overall piece was done in Corel Painter 12 before I used Adobe Photoshop CS3 to define his face and some adjustment to his head and arm. The finished work consisted of monochromatic spectrums of crimson red and pastel yellow. Support APO? magazine, and see the post-production version of this artwork in full colored print without the watermark. Thank you.

Hafiz & Izzati

A wedding gift, I want to thank and suprise Hafiz. Hope he'll like this after the first one (the upper image) I'd shown him last year, perhaps I'll work on that piece too someday. I heard the marriage will be official this May. God bless.

PS: Actually, I tried to sign in to my older art blog after a long time and that was when I realize I had forgotten my previous blog's email. I have 1000 emails for game accounts lol each with a unique password, and I made the blog with one of the crappy ones. This is why I have no introduction to this new blog and just continue the posting here.

A Battle Medic

I've been flipping my old illustration magazine recently. Apparently, a lot of our local painters and illustrators are really talented, n they incredibly inspire my long-abandoned creative side.

Thus, a few days ago, I decided to grab the tablet which was a present from my girlfriend and started to sketch the basic outlines for her portrait. As I was drawing and searching through the magazine for some inspiration (it usually didn't last very long so I needed to keep myself flowing with the same motivation and creative juice), I realized that I somehow paused a little longer on pages with robots in them.
Then I remembered all those sci-fi games back in my younger years such as Blizzard's Starcraft and Fallout series which had the best gameplay at that time, and the coolest designs! If not for my elder brother as my early exposure and also became the most of my influence, I think that I would only make giant robot or bio-mechanical artworks rather than human figures.

4 days after I started for what was intended as a kekasih-kepada-kekasih portrait, this came out :

Oh and I salute to the artists who can let go and resist some pointless details (like whether this small dot should be in red or green, which constantly prolonged my whole progress) and still make awesome pieces of work!
